Fashion Designing is a specialisation of humanities that covers the wide spectrum of fabrics, styles, patterns, colours and trends that define the fashion of a particular era. It is not just limited to clothes and trends but also includes the area of accessories, handbags and footwear. The combined study of all these aspects come under a fashion designing course.
DURATION : 6 MONTHS / 1 YEAR / 2 YEAR
Is a Diploma level fashion designing course. The course covers all aspects of fashion from the source of inspiration to the production of an original prototype. With the foundation based on the experience , expertise & workshops conducted by industry professionals , the students would be able to develop a strong basis of their skill sets.
Through this subject a student is taught about various color schemes, its formation and also its effects on different textures and their impact on individual/different personalities as color plays a very important role. Students are also taught about the significance of different colors in relation to occasions, weather , country etc.
This subject helps a student in order to put or express their ideas on a paper. In this a student is taught from the point of how to hold a pencil till making beautiful human sketches with draped designs
Basic design is the study of all different elements to design a garment for example color , silhouettes , textures etc. It also covers the basic principles of design.
This subject is taught in order to make a student understand the quality aspects and finishing during the constructions process so as to produce quality product. It also helps a student to calculate the fabric consumption. It plays a very important role in costing. It can majorly increase or decrease the cost of the garments.
Through this subject students are taught about various basic embroidery, stitches along with the embroideries of different states. Embroidery knowledge is must for a designer as it correct sew can enhance a very simple looking fabric and make it look very expensive one.
This helps in making a correct measured pattern in order to have accuracy in the constructed garment and also helps in controlling wastage of fabric as the patterns on paper are first checked thoroughly and then the fabric is cut according to it
In this subject a student is taught about various steps involved during fabric production like about the fibers, yarns, weavings etc. This is very important for a fabric designer because he should have a proper knowledge about various textiles with its effects or human body structure, costing as per quality etc.
This subject enables a student to understand the basic policies and procedures involved in the EXIM trade. It clears the legalities involved in order to do export or import.
CAD, or computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), is technology for design and technical documentation, which replaces manual drafting with an automated process.
